The LG GS500 Cookie Plus Monte Is An Appealing Mobile Phone

.

The ever expanding LG Cookie range sees another new addition in the shape of the LG GS500 Cookie Plus. This represents the latest evolution of the range, and brings to the table an updated handset featuring the latest features.

Released in March 2010, the LG GS500 Cookie Plus allows users to customise their ringtones by utilising MP3 files for the purpose, as well as the inclusion of a composer which allows custom ringtones to be created from scratch. As well as ringing, vibration alerts users to incoming calls and messages.
The internal phonebook can store up to 1000 entries, enough to cater to the needs of the vast majority of users. It also features the popular and handy Photocall feature. This allows a photo to be assigned to each contact. This is then displayed on the screen whenever that person calls. 30 MB of internal storage is provided for storage of data such as music files and video files. Further storage can be made available, however, by utilising the micro SD slot and simply installing a larger memory card.

The screen measures 3 inches and features TFT resistive touch screen technology. This offers a dynamic and interactive means of navigating the user interface. The screen offers excellent display quality thanks to the ability to display up to 256,000 colours within a pixel setup of 240x400. The screen also features an accelerometer sensor which rotates the screens content dependent upon the orientation of the phone. Handwriting recognition is another interesting and impressive feature offered by the screen.

The LG GS500 Cookie Plus is a relatively compact handset measuring 107x52.5x11.5mm and weighs at just 92.5 grams, its light weight and slim profile make it a pocket friendly handset which is comfortable to hold and use n the move. It is an attractive handset with rounded corners, and an uncluttered fascia. The front is dominated by the touch screen, with just 3 round buttons beneath the screen. It is finished in black, but is also available in a range of other colours, so will appeal to those who view their mobile phone as a fashion statement.

In areas with little or no 3G coverage, class 12 versions of both GPRS and EDGE provide the LG GS500 Cookie Plus with its connections to cellular networks. In areas covered by 3G, internet connection is provided at speeds of up to 3.6 Mega bytes per second. Bluetooth version 2.1 provides the means to connect to other compatible handsets in the same vicinity in order to carry out tasks such as sharing music tracks. Micro USB is also provided so the phone can be connected to a computer in order to transfer media files or back up contact info.

The LG GS500 Cookie Plus also features a built in digital camera boasting 3.15 mega pixels. It also doubles up as an effective video camera, shooting QVGA quality film at a rate of 12 frames per second.

Given its range of available colours and its appealing styling and spec list, the LG GS500 Cookie Plus looks set to remain a popular handset.
